After state-wide lockdowns and change in job security, the thought of buying a car is understandably overwhelming. It is times like these that considering leasing a car is a great option as it allows you use of a vehicle for an affordable price. The number of leased cars dipped during the coronavirus pandemic so automakers have released a bunch of enticing deals to encourage people to get back behind the wheel. We’ve scoured the internet and found two cheap leases that will help you get the most bang for your buck.

Customers who choose leasing over buying a car love the fact they get access to a brand-new vehicle for an affordable price and at the end of the lease they only have to pay for the depreciation of the car for the duration of the rental.

It’s a fairly simple concept but finding the right car and a lease that suits your needs is important. We’ve found two cars that have great customer reviews and are ranked very highly as a reliable car.

Mazda CX-30

Want to take on the world in the first-ever Mazda CX-30? This car is the first in a new line of Mazda SUV’s that boasts the latest technology to deliver a responsive and smooth engine and nimble handling. On the evaluation of over 15 data elements, such as interior, safety and reliability, the Mazda scored an 8.2 out of 10.

The CX-30 is not the zippiest when taking off but it still has a 250-horsepower turbocharged engine and comes with standard AWD and numerous safety features such as traction control and lane departure warnings. Mazda designers put lots of effort into limiting noise pollution inside the vehicle and many drivers value this.

The CX-30 is nearly 15 centimetres taller than the Mazda3 which creates more headroom but it is slightly shorter than previous models. The trunk has a 317-litre capacity.

The Mazda deal

Through CarsDirect, you can lease the 2021 version for 36 months from $205 with $2,999 due at signing. This works out to $288 a month and the offer for the 2020 Mazda is the same so it’s a no brainer to go for the later model. The lease comes with 12,000 miles a year limit.

For the 2020 model, Mazda offers a 0 percent financing for 60 months and a 90-day payment-free period. For the 2021 model there is a 0.9 percent financing for 60 months and no payment-free period but those that qualify can apply for the $750 Loyalty Bonus Cash.

Another option is to lease the car through Palisades Mazda. Through this company you can lease the car for $169 per month for 36 months with $4337 due at signing and a $350 termination fee. This works out as $289 per month.

Kia Forte

The 2020 Kia Forte looks sleek and stylish whilst also providing a spacious cabin and handsome design. It has a smaller engine that only generates 147 horsepower but the flipside of this is it is very efficient. It is estimated that you can travel about 35 miles per gallon.

The four-door sedan is very roomy and over 6-foot people will sit comfortably in this car for long-journeys. It also features split-fold rear seats and soft touch door panels. The car comes with the standard technology capabilities such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Bluetooth and a 433-litre trunk capacity.

It received four out of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and was praised for its blind-spot monitors, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking.

If you’re looking for something a bit zippier and faster, then consider upgrading to the 2021 Forte GT which is the latest Kia model. This car comes with a 201 horsepower and can go from 0 to 60 MPH in a mere 6.7 seconds. It is also equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and has the guts to handle off-roading. Despite being favoured for its performance abilities, the Forte GT is still very efficient. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave this car a 5-star rating.

The Kia Deal

Through CarsDirect you can lease a 2020 Forte LXS Sedan for just $159 for 36 months, as well as a $2499 cash payment upon signing. This equates to $228 per month. But for $10 extra you can upgrade to the 2020 Forte GT-Line which would make your monthly cost $238.

There are also current lease deals on the 2021 models. A 2021 Forte LXS Sedan can be leased for $169 with $2,499 cash due at signing and a 2021 Forte GT-Line costs $179 per month with $2,499 due at signing. The monthly costs for these two lease deals are $238 and $248 respectively.

All deals come with a 12,000-mileage allowance per year and a $500 lease bonus cash for qualifying customers.  A $400 termination fee applies at the end of the lease term.

All offers are in place until November 2 but there will likely be an update on each of them after that date so keep an eye out.
